ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT
The ELD program at OIS is designed to develop and strengthen a firm foundation in academic English. Students will practice reading, writing, listening, and speaking in small-group classes arranged by skill level and grade level. Instruction in reading comprehension and written expression help students meet the demands of academic rigor across the curriculum. Students develop academic vocabulary and read literature and informational texts. The ELD program supports English-language learners as they develop the skills necessary to meet the academic rigor expected of all OIS students.

At OIS, we appreciate our students as individuals and want to see every student succeed. The Instructional Services Team works with students to support their learning through a combination of research-based strategies, individualized planning, and whole-person approaches to educational achievement.
